Students from the Field of Artificial Intelligence & Computer Engineering Technology at ElSewedy University of Technology (ElSewedy University of Technology) have proudly represented the university at the 7th Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences International Conference (NILES 2025), held at Nile University from October 25–27, 2025.
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ali Sobh, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Dr. Alyaa Hamza (ElSewedy University of Technology) and Dr. Abdelgwad Elashry (University of Hertfordshire), the students showcased two innovative research papers that garnered significant recognition and appreciation from conference attendees and experts.
The first paper, titled “Mitigating DDoS Threats in VANETs: A Real-Time Simulation Approach Using SUMO and NS-3,” was presented by Ahmed Elasmar, Yasmeen Khalifa, and Mohamed Bahnassy. Their work addresses cybersecurity challenges in vehicular networks using advanced simulation tools to enhance system resilience against cyberattacks.
The second paper, “Enhancing Breast Cancer Survival Prediction with Survival Analysis and Calibrated Machine Learning,” was presented by Salma Ahmad Abdelhamid, Salma Ahmed Hassan, and Menna El-Zahaby. This research leverages data analytics and machine learning techniques to improve the accuracy of survival prediction, contributing to more effective healthcare decision-making.
Both papers have been accepted for publication in IEEE and will be indexed in Scopus, a testament to the high quality and impact of the students’ research.
These achievements reflect ElSewedy University of Technology’s commitment to fostering innovation, scientific excellence, and hands-on research experiences that empower students to tackle real-world challenges through technology and creativity.
