ElSewedy University’s top-performing students are proudly representing the institution at the prestigious national “SolveThe17” hackathon, organized by the IEEE Student Branch at Egypt University of Informatics. Running from May 10 to 17, this dynamic competition challenges young innovators to develop cutting-edge, technology-driven solutions that address some of Egypt’s most pressing societal issues.
Held in a hybrid format, the event blends in-person engagement with virtual collaboration, encouraging inclusive participation while maximizing creativity and teamwork. Over the course of the week, participants are guided through a series of intensive workshops and mentoring sessions led by industry experts and academic leaders from across the country.
Our student teams are focusing on five critical United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
•Good Health and Well-Being
•Quality Education
•Affordable and Clean Energy
•Sustainable Cities and Communities
•Climate Action
Each team is applying innovative thinking and technical skills to develop practical, scalable solutions that can make a real impact. From healthcare technologies to sustainable urban planning, the projects reflect both the creativity and social consciousness of our students.
The hackathon will culminate in a high-profile Demo Day on May 17, where teams will present their final pitches to a panel of expert judges. This capstone event not only celebrates innovation but also underscores the role of youth in shaping a better future for Egypt and beyond.
ElSewedy University is proud to support its students in this transformative experience, reinforcing our commitment to technological advancement, sustainability, and civic responsibility.
