On Tuesday, November 19th, a group of students from the Faculty of Arts and Design Technology at ELSEWEDY UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY -POLYTECHNIC OF EGYPT- embarked on an enriching educational trip to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.
The visit aligned perfectly with the university's commitment to a polytechnic model of learning, which emphasizes a 60% practical and 40% theoretical education. By immersing students in real-world experiences, the university aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their chosen fields.
Under the supervision of Dr. Hanan Fouad, Dr. Mohamed Eid, and Teaching Assistant Habiba Abdel Salam, students delved into the rich tapestry of Egyptian history and art. The museum's extensive collection, spanning from prehistoric times to the modern era, provided an ideal platform for students to observe firsthand the evolution of artistic styles, architectural techniques, and cultural practices across various civilizations, including Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Islamic, and Modern Egyptian.
By examining the artifacts up close, students were able to analyze the materials, techniques, and symbolism employed by ancient artisans. This hands-on experience complemented the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom, allowing students to connect abstract concepts with tangible examples.
The trip not only enriched students' understanding of art history and design principles but also inspired their creativity and innovation. By witnessing the ingenuity and skill of past civilizations, students were encouraged to push the boundaries of their own artistic endeavors.
Elsewedy University of Technology remains dedicated to providing its students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Through field trips, workshops, and internships, the university fosters a dynamic and engaging learning environment that prepares students for success in the 21st-century workforce.
