Dr. Alyaa Abdo Hamza

Program Head of Computer Science Technology Program, Head of Education Management Systems (EMS) Unit

Dr. Alyaa Hamza is an Assistant Professor and researcher in Computer and Systems Engineering, with specialized expertise in network security, the Internet of Things (IoT), and wireless communication systems. She currently serves as the Program Head of the Computer Science Technology Program, Head of the Educational Management Systems (EMS) Unit, and Manager of the SUT Huawei Academy at Elsewedy University of Technology (SUT), Egypt.

She holds a Ph.D. in Computer and Systems Engineering from Ain Shams University (2022), where her doctoral dissertation on trust coding for the Internet of Things (IoT) was awarded the Best Ph.D. Thesis. She also earned her M.Sc. (2017) and B.Sc. (2011) degrees in Computer and Control Systems Engineering from Mansoura University.

Her academic career combines teaching excellence, research leadership, and academic administration, with over 14 years of academic experience. Prior to joining SUT, she held several key academic and quality assurance roles at Badr University in Cairo (BUC), including Program Coordinator and Quality Visiting Coordinator for NAQAAE accreditation documentation. She also led the digital examination systems during the COVID-19 pandemic and contributed to the development of university bylaws and academic regulations in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Her research contributions include blockchain-enabled AI systems, IoT security, 5G network management, IoT applications, and malware detection in smart environments. She has published more than 20 research papers in Q1-ranked international journals and conferences, and she actively serves as a peer reviewer for over 370 articles in high-impact journals. She is also involved in postgraduate supervision, mentoring Master’s and Ph.D. researchers.
