About the program

The Agriculture Irrigation Engineering program represents a comprehensive educational pathway that addresses critical needs at the intersection of water management and agricultural production. ● Students will learn relevant theoretical and practical knowledge to support
their careers. Courses will be delivered through face-to-face classroom instruction and laboratory.
● Effective technical communication will be emphasized throughout the program. The student acquires knowledge and skills in irrigation engineering, water management, and irrigated field crops.
● A total of 137 credit hours will be required to graduate. They will have core and elective courses in Smart Water Engineering Technology. Students can expect to spend an average of 20-25 contact hours per week in class and labs, with additional time spent studying, completing assignments, and doing research.

Advanced System Design: Design sophisticated center pivot and linear move irrigation systems for various field conditions, crop requirements, and operational objectives
• Automation Implementation: Develop and implement automation systems for pivot operations, including programmable controllers, sensor integration, and remote operation capabilities
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize pivot system performance through sprinkler package design, pressure regulation, and application uniformity improvements
• Specialty System Design: Design specialized pivot systems for unique applications such as chemigation, fertigation, effluent application, and frost protection
• Monitoring System Integration: Integrate comprehensive monitoring systems into pivot infrastructure to track performance, water application, energy use, and mechanical condition
• Energy Efficiency Enhancement: Optimize the energy efficiency of pivot irrigation systems through pump selection, pressure management, and drive system improvement
