ELSEWEDY UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY -POLYTECHNIC OF EGYPT- is proud to be recognized in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, a global benchmark that evaluates universities’ societal contributions based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These rankings are considered among the most respected worldwide, standing alongside the QS World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking) as one of the top three most influential systems for assessing higher education institutions.

The (THE) Impact Rankings differ from traditional academic assessments by focusing on how universities are working to achieve the 17 SDGs outlined by the United Nations, which include ending poverty, promoting gender equality, fostering innovation, and ensuring inclusive economic growth. These rankings highlight how institutions are addressing today’s most pressing global challenges through research, outreach, and sustainable practices.

In this year’s edition, SUTech was ranked in the +1501 global category, reflecting its growing engagement with sustainable development goals. The university earned notable placements in several individual SDG categories. Most prominently, SUTech was ranked among the top 800 universities worldwide in Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), a recognition of its efforts to support employment-focused education and economic resilience.

Additionally, SUTech placed among the top 1000 universities globally in four key areas: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), No Poverty (SDG 1), Gender Equality (SDG 5), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). These rankings underscore the university’s commitment to inclusive education, equity, and sustainable progress.

Being featured in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is a significant step forward for SU Tech, reinforcing its mission to create positive social change and advance Egypt’s contribution to the global sustainable development agenda. The university continues to embed the principles of sustainability into its academic programs, campus initiatives, and institutional strategy, ensuring it plays a meaningful role in shaping a more equitable future.
