Eng. Ahmed Mekky

Eng. Ahmed Mekky is a visionary entrepreneur and a key contributor to the development of telecommunications infrastructure across the region. As the founder and CEO of Benya Group, he has led the company’s growth into a leading digital infrastructure and ICT solutions provider.

In 2008, he founded Gulf Bridge International (GBI), establishing a submarine cable network connecting over 25 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia. The network later expanded to over 40,000 kilometers, positioning it as a critical global connectivity platform.

His entrepreneurial journey also includes the establishment of Equinox in 2005, which evolved into Fiber Misr ICT before ultimately becoming Benya Group in 2017.

Eng. Mekky holds a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Cairo University and a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Nottingham, following his studies at the Information Technology Institute (ITI).
